General Repair Information
In anticipation of the upcoming departure of some of our repair staff, we have made the difficult decision to close our repair shop to outside work indefinitely. We have been honored to serve the greater Atlanta community as a trusted source for repair work, and we are extremely grateful for all of your support over the years. Yet, in light of the limited pool of truly qualified candidates and the rapidly escalating costs associated with administering our repair department, we have concluded that any effort to continue in our current capacity would be untenable. The primary function of our repair facilities has always been that of reinforcing the value of the instruments we offer for sale and those we have sold by ensuring the highest standards of evaluation, preparation, and ongoing service. Thus, going forward, our repair department will be concentrating on the preparation of our inventory; but, we will continue to offer repair services for any guitar that we have sold previously, as well as for instruments owned by active Maple Street Guitars students. We will also continue to offer basic services, such as restringing and minor repairs that can be performed in a while-you-wait manner.
We recognize that this announcement will be very disappointing for many and that the transition will undoubtedly be difficult. Even so, we remain committed to serving everyone as best we can! Along that line, we will continue to accept outside repairs until September 1st, and we will always be happy to offer our advice, expertise, and referrals with regard to any repair questions. Meanwhile, we are eagerly discussing new avenues by which we might offer our repair knowledge base to the local community and beyond. We will certainly keep you posted on any and all developments with regard to our services; but, in the interim, we thank you all for your patience and support as we make this transition.
In keeping with our commitment to best serve the guitar community, we at Maple Street Guitars maintain a full-service repair facility for guitar repairs in the metro Atlanta area. We routinely perform all sorts of repairs - restrings and setups, fret work, crack repairs, bridge re-glues, and pickup installations. In addition to guitars, we also work on banjos, mandolins, and several other related stringed instruments. Before accepting a repair, we take time to thoroughly evaluate every instrument in order to provide each customer with a proper understanding of the nature of the repair. There is no charge for our evaluation, so feel free to bring your ailing instruments by our shop anytime.
PLEASE NOTE: We do our best to accommodate our customers when it comes to while-you-wait restringing or urgent repairs. However, due to our consistent backlog of repairs and in-house maintenance, please understand that we cannot always offer same-day service and may ask you to drop off your instrument if we are really busy! We always recommend that you call in advance to check our lead time and availability.
